Climbing
Reach New Heights
The limestone crags of the Montgó massif and the surrounding Sierra de Bèrnia offer world-class sport climbing in a stunning Mediterranean setting. With over 1,000 bolted routes within a 30-minute drive, this region is a climber's paradise — and Villa Serena sits right at its heart.
01Why Your Clients Will Want to Come
There are several good reasons to base your next climbing retreat in Jávea: plenty of cheap flights to Alicante in non-peak months, very low costs of food and drink, and short flight and transfer times to Villa Serena. But let us be honest — the fact that there are 300 days of sun per year making it pleasant to climb from October to March without being frozen, blown off a hillside or drowned in rain is a pretty compelling argument. And the fact that there are so many challenging and varied climbs available within a short drive is just the cherry on the cake.
- Sport climbing from 4a to 8b+ on pristine limestone
- Bouldering sectors with problems for all abilities
- Multi-pitch routes with breathtaking sea views
- IFMGA-qualified local guides and instruction
- Year-round climbing thanks to the mild Mediterranean climate

Limestone heaven from the doorstep
"Stuart sorted everything — guides at Sella for the first day, then Toix for the seaside multi-pitches. Coming back from a 6-hour day to a cold beer in the garden and a proper evening meal was perfect."

Best base for a winter trip
"We've done El Chorro and Kalymnos and this was right up there. Loads of variety within 30 minutes, the villa is huge and chilled, and the local guides really know the rock."

Coaching week that actually worked
"Booked five days with a guide and made more progress than a whole season at home. Highly recommend the bespoke add-ons — packed lunches at the crag were a game changer."
